More Than This World

Isaiah 55:8-9:

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” saith the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

The dynamics of the scripture are that the Lord told the Prophet Isaiah to tell the people that His thoughts are not their thoughts, nor are His ways their ways. Often, we quote this scripture without really asking the questions: What are the thoughts of God, and what do His ways look like for my life?

I would say our thoughts and ways are just small details of the full picture of what the Lord has for us. Prophecy is the medium by which we see and grasp these higher levels of reality. It maneuvers through realities, dimensions, and worlds, taking bits and pieces of the reality we have already lived in that dimension, and brings them to us in the present.

Many of us experience déjà vu and déjà rêvé and often wonder why. Yet, we say, “It feels like I’ve done this before,” even though in this present moment we have not. The truth is, we actually have done it before, just in another reality, time, universe, or dimension. Our world has just caught up to what happened in another aspect of time.

With that said, it leads us into Isaiah 55:9.

What I really want to place emphasis on in verse nine is, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth.” This is not just an indication of the heaven (stars, sun, solar system) but rather the heavens above our visible eyes.

The aphorism, “if you can think it, it exists,” is actually true. It may not exist under our heaven or plane of imagination, but it does exist.

Tapping into the full consciousness of God takes us into realms of unlimited possibilities and boundless creativity, living in a system governed by laws outside of our mundane existence.
